Nominated Beneficiaries for 2025

The Cableway Charity Challenge was started to help those in dire need of education support in Cape Town. Since then, the event has supported a number of non-profit organisations from various fields including environmental, educational, health, sports and leadership initiatives.

Since the event started, Wilderness Search and Rescue (WSAR)  have generously assisted us with emergency services, not only on challenge day but on a voluntary basis to the public thought out the year.  We are pleased to be able to support this incredible organisation with 10% of event proceeds distributed to them each year.

In 2025 we will be supporting the Volunteer Wildfire Services (VWS) for the first time. VWS, like WSAR, is run entirely by volunteers and forms an integral part of the Western Cape’s response to wildfires.  Many of their members have bravely fought fires on the slopes of the mountain where the Cableway Charity Challenge takes place, and it is a privilege to be able to distribute 10% of event proceeds to them.

The balance of the funds raised is shared between the other chosen and vetted beneficiaries. In 2025 these are:  Funda Kunye and Ubuntu Football.

To date the event has raised close to R16m for our beneficiaries. We hope to add another R1m to that tally with the 2025 event!
